Women who work in global marketing departments have an overall job satisfaction level of 3.5, 50% of them believe there is gender equality in their firms, and make an average salary range of $100k-$150k.
Very good gender diversity in leadership within country businesses, but less so in global teams where frequent international travel is the norm.
Globally it has some of the best maternity packages available, and there is a genuine commitment to encourage diversity and support women. However, this generally only translates in the enterprise and support roles - most women can't/won't consider the front-line consulting roles when managing a young family.
There are a lot of women at the company, however there is definitely a "boys club" here. Behavior tolerated and role hires are heavily influenced by who you know and the higher you get the more male exclusive it gets, making it harder for women to break in. Some departments are better than others, but an insular network definitely exists. Also if you aren't married with kids it's going to be hard to have things in common with your coworkers. Culture is extremely "suburbia" focused, which works great for most of the company, just hard for younger employees to find common ground and meet colleagues with similar interests.
The company is trying to hire more women in leadership roles. Today most of the business/market leads are male & over 55. This is ideal for young women who are looking for business development careers as they will be given opportunities to get on the fast track. However, anybody trying to move directly into a leadership role will have to come from the same or very similar industry.
It's an extremely large company - be patient learning you're way around. I would recommend networking with some people who have been with the company for a while.
