Women who work in information systems departments have an overall job satisfaction level of 3.5, 50% of them believe there is gender equality in their firms, and make an average salary range of $80k-$100k.
Too much work pressure. Sometimes very long working hours. Difficult to manage.
The line managers are typically male and there seems to be something of a macho culture at that level. There is a definite sense that the female managers are minimized by their colleagues. There is no clear path to promotion. However, people do get promoted. Unfortunately it is not always clear why some people are promoted and others are not. These promotions are not announced or explained. Each team has its own culture - and the level of flexibility allowed varies dramatically between teams.
Women can and do succeed at Boeing; I have never felt at a disadvantage or disrespected because of my gender.
