Make sure the reporting and staff support structure is very clear before joining the team. People with children are in the minority.

Only got 10 weeks due to C section.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. If you don't have kids or the desire for work\life balance, it's a great company. My team was very short staffed and working 60 hour weeks is expected.

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

Improve work-life balance and policies (e.g. flex-time, limit face time)

Women are fairly represented at this company, they get equal opportunities for advancement as well. Maternity policy is not great. It's based on how many years you're with IPG (parent company). You can expect to receive 2-4 weeks paid, minimum. You can also use PTO. Fathers are eligible for 2 weeks paternity leave as well.

Lots of very smart women at MSL Atlanta. Unfortunately, working mothers don't have the easiest time.

Edelman is a great company to work for, but some of their maternity policies can be confusing. While there is not equal representation at high levels now Edelman has dedicated resources and formed internal groups to promote women into more leadership positions. Overall, this company is trending positively for women and families but there is still work to do.
