I think maternity leave could definitely be improved - you get 66% of your pay for 6 weeks, and after that it's unpaid or your return you to work.

I worked here for 4 years while supporting myself through school. My boss as fair and understanding. I felt that I was treated with respect and my gender did not get in my way.

While the benefits are good, working for Starbucks is not easy. The hours are long, the customers are grumpy if not down right rude, the pay is subpar, most days are physically demanding, and your experience with the company is entirely dependent the store you work in and how the manager you work for decides to run the store.

As with many fields in the service industry, this company is dominated by women. Most women are incredible teammates, but sometimes there are cliques formed. Just be honest, and don't say anything behind someone's back that you wouldn't say to their face.

I've worked here since they bought out Brooks Pharmacy, They expect too much from us in the area I moved to. Were I moved from, we had cashiers from start to finish of our shifts and here we are on register for over half our shifts and they still expect us to get the floor work done. I used to love my job where I came from but transferring here, I wish I didn't. I as well as many other shifts are very unhappy because we get yelled at for not getting the work done but how can we if we're on the register for over half our shifts? Benefits are good, but sometimes the good doesn't outweigh the bad. There is a lot of tension because we always know we're going to get yelled at for stuff we could not physically get done. Too bad I used to love it here.
