Women are constantly pushed out and ignored at this firm. Because of the "free market" staffing system, women do not have as many opportunities and as a result, are much more likely to have to take work nobody else wants. Female associates are regularly excluded from social events and looped out of deals. I even had the experience of my entire team having a meeting about an ongoing deal and the two female associates on the deal were left out of the meeting. Sexual harassment is part of the culture at this firm and management does nothing to address the issue. Women rarely make partner and the firm does not value a diverse board of directors.

Great people, including many women. Need more in leadership, however.

The firm has great policies, but what counts are the people you're working directly with and for. Policies don't affect promotion and professional opportunities; people do.

The only paid portion of your leave is any accrued sick and vacation time. You MUST use the accrued time. Upon returning to work you have zero vacation and zero sick time. It take 6 weeks to accrue 1 vacation day. Also, it's 8 weeks leave for vaginal birth 12 weeks for cesarian. It's an ok place to work only because of the hours and possible flex hours but they are very big on punching the clock. They value how strictly their requirements are followed over the quality of the work. They prefer robots.

I worked here for a few years and generally felt that female attorneys were treated fairly. However, there are relatively few female associates and almost no female partners. I'm not sure whether that is because work-life balance is almost non-existent, or whether there are more nefarious explanations, but either way, there is a retention issue.

I'm relatively new but so far it's a very good place to work. The legal department has LOTS of women -- possibly to make up for not having very many on the engineering side.
