If you have a family don’t expect to spend much time with them. Requests for time off gets denied more than approved. No such thing as a set schedule. They will tell you they will accommodate you as best they can but after your 90 days they do what they want and forget what they told you in the beginning.

I didn’t need maternity leave but know several women who did. You get no time before you give birth. Paid leave starts when the baby is born. Also you do not get any light duty during pregnancy and are expected to do your job as usual including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders and frequent bending and stretching.

There is not enough transparency in salary bands to ensure equal pay, and not enough women in senior leadership positions.

No matter your gender, if your managing editor and his executive secretary/HR manager/Operations Manager (one person) don't like you, you will be gone.
