If you have to work here, try to get a job behind a counter where people can't get to you. Also look for a store with more women in management positions.

Change the openly hostile work environment. (70% turnover rate in 3 months)

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. The main office in Charlotte may be more fair, but the retail store I worked at was not good. Women were paid a much lower rate and were not promoted to higher paying levels. When the restructure was done, the only Assistant Store Manager was laid off, despite others having more disciplinary actions against them. Men were hired at higher levels and pay rates, and rampant sexual harassment by male coworkers and customers ignored by management and HR.

Expect office place bullies. Most are women in management. Most positions are stressful but the hours are flexible.

I worked there for around 3 years and I loved it, they treat everyone the same and it seemed more like a family than work associates. I would recommend this company to anyone!! I had to have surgery and they gave me the time I needed to recovery and always made sure I was doing ok and was not over doing it when I came back. Great place to work!!

I had pictured advancement and a lot of opportunities which really don't exist. There are many people with my job title but our duties vary. Most jobs are outsourced so there are very few jobs posted. There is no such thing as coming in a few minutes late because you had a doctor's appointment and staying a few minutes late. Part of that is due to union regulations but there is no flexibility. Management is not the brightest and best, they are people that just didn't want to do my job. They are paid 15% more than me with less job security. I am very thankful for a wonderful benefit package but feel that I am paid in benefits, not really in salary.
