Automated Logic/UTC allows me the flexibility I need to pick up my kids a couple days a week. The management team understands that, as a parent, there are many activities that happen during work hours. We have a pool of PTO for dependent care that does not take away from our sick and vacation time. This is very helpful!
  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

    12 paid / 2 unpaid

When I approached my employer about taking beyond the typical 12 weeks, they were extremely supportive. I had an infant who spent significant time in the NICU and just wasn't ready to be in a daycare setting. They even allowed me to phase back into work slowly, part time at first and moving to full time as my child was healthy.

Cisco

Hardware Engineer Manager, Engineering

There is much opportunity for flexibility at Cisco. I am in engineering and feel like I get good support being a woman, however I do think there may be some groups that do not feel the same support, even within engineering. It may be group-dependent.

    13 paid / unpaid

The leave policy at Cisco is much better now than when I had a child (almost 5 years ago). Now, men and women employees get full pay for 13 weeks!
