be prepared to be expected to work crazy hours, to be overloaded with work and have a very slim chance of promotion. Instead of promoting you to a new role they will gradually increase your responsibilities and make you report to someone who used to do the role (and they are paid more to do the same thing).

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Unless you are/or planning to get pregnant, you will get lots of practice in the lab. really few managers who are trying to accommodate your special needs like no night shifts for pregnant (even if your OB suggests so in written), lack of support for after the delivery for work-life balance, most of the times you won't know your roster till the very last minute, so it's almost impossible to plan your life unless you're on annual leave. Employer is perfect for a single person seeking experience.
