Because you're working with students on a daily basis, it's important for you to show up on time and be prepared. Often times, I would get in at 6:30am and wouldn't leave until after 5pm. I also took work home with me often whether it was student work or lesson plans, and dedicated another two hours outside of the workplace. If I were going to be absent one day, I had to communicate it to my entire grade team because it impacted lunch and recess duty, prep periods, and the co-teaching model.

Women are obviously the highlight of working in education and early childhood education. Take advantage of your role and grow as much as possible. Currently, the pay is not good, therefore, love what you do or don't be there, This place has a lot of potential but if you're a person that likes to hold your own and would benefit from flexibility, this may not be the place for you.

Let's just say working with children is just like having your own birth children...there isn't much wiggle room.

They don't cover at least 6 months of leave and this is a place where families that the educators look after are able to do so.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. If they are passionate enough about what they do and if I can share with them my honest experience and wisdom about the job without hindering them, then it will depend on their choice thereafter.
