To get experience, it's great; but for the long-term, pay incentives don't match other similarly-sized firms.

Staff who have children have much more flexibility, not so much if you are not married or have no children.

Core hours are 9:30-3:30. These are required hours for the most part. Employees work a 37.5 hour week with a one hour lunch daily. After 6 months with the firm (on an 8:30-5:00 shift), you can request a shift change such as 7 - 3:30, 8-4:30, 9:30-6:00 or whatever suits your schedule. Your attorney and HR have to approve the change but from what I have seen they are fairly flexible. You can use PTO or flex-time to make up any core hours you need off. You can make up 1 to 3 hours a week with flex-time by working an extra hour here and there to cover a day when you take a few hours off.Paid time off is available to cover other time off needed. PTO is fairly generous and starts at 15 days for new hires. PTO is accumulated at around 1.25 days per month worked. Medical, dental and optical plans are provided for the employee at no cost (deductibles and co-pays apply to doctor visits). Coverage can be purchased for dependents.

Maybe. Experiences can be very individual here as it depends where you end up. There are attorneys and teams that are unpleasant. There are attorneys and teams that are wonderful. It seems to be luck of the draw.

Unless you are an attorney, do not get married or have children. I was actually told not to get pregnant - jokingly, but disappointedly

I worked here for eight months but there is an attitude of some of the female lawyers that is very male-driven (even though the support staff is only female). Due to its size, there was no real advancement (unless you start as a receptionist and another staff employee leaves). It felt as though the female lawyers judged the female support staff more than the men but overall it was an amazing starting experience and there are very few things that I would change about the company.

The treatment of staff vs attorneys are quite different. Attorney women get more time off for maternity, vacation etc. In terms of women, this is an equal opportunity workplace. Great place for attorneys of either gender.
