Know that the owner has complete control no matter how far removed he may be from your day-to-day job responsibilities. His end game is to have the company make the amount of money he needs to fund his lifestyle. If that means lower bonuses, pay or benefit cuts, he could not care less, He will never retire or sell, so ignore anyone who tells you differently.

In general, women are treated very fairly at the company, however, there still seems to be a bit of the old boys club at the senior levels.

This is a very fast paced environment. There is focus on diversity and women initiatives. The benefits are good, with 16 weeks maternity leave now.

PwC

Managing Director

January 1970

I've worked at PwC for over 20 years and have 2 teenage children. When they were younger, I was on a flexible arrangement where I worked 4 days a week- in the office 3 days, from home 1. Great programs and the firm offers a ton of flexibility. In order to make partner, you have to be willing to relocate and work even more than is typical. Being unwilling to move or taking advantages of the flexible arrangements may hinder you from becoming a partner.
