Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are Honoring Princess Diana’s Career in the Best Way

As opinions on the newest Royal Family fly around the internet, there’s one thing everyone can agree on: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are using their positions to make a difference. And they’re about to do so in a special way that honors the late Princess Diana.

On their upcoming tour of Africa (and yes, they’re bringing baby Archie), the couple will be honoring Princess Diana’s work in Angola by working with the Halo Trust. The organization works to remove landmines and reduce armed violence, and gained international attention in 1997 when Princess Diana joined the project and walked through one of their minefields. 

Prince Harry has partnered with the organization before — he was the patron of their 25th anniversary — but he is reportedly thrilled to include his family. According to details released by Buckingham Palace, Harry is “especially proud to continue the legacy left by his mother with her work in Angola.” 

However, the good deeds aren’t stopping there. The pair has several other advocacy engagements planned, including “opportunities for Meghan to work with local organizations to ‘promote women and girls’ health and education, entrepreneurship and leadership.’”
