Employee resource groups (ERGs) are important and play a plethora of important roles at companies around the globe. For instance, in this year’s Galvanize, we heard that ERGs play a key role in accelerating the path to gender equality, building supportive communities, providing leadership experience and career development opportunities, enabling employees to hold important and bold conversations, assisting in diverse hiring, teaching leadership about DEI goals, suggesting benefits that employees really want, empowering intersectional identities, creating space for us all to decompress together, becoming more aware of our biases, and much more!

Here, we share a few companies that have great ERGs (and other initiatives directed at empowering employees) that support employees throughout their organizations.

Ampersand is a data-driven TV advertising sales and technology company that is passionate about creating an inclusive environment in which you have headroom to grow and legroom to run. As part of this, Ampersand has many supportive employee groups and initiatives, including Ampersand’s Culture Council (which focuses on the awareness of many issues around DE&I — including gender equality — and how to strategically insert that messaging into a corporate environment) and Ampersand’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI).
