It’s no surprise that diversity and inclusion is a hot topic. Deloitte reported that 94% of CEOs consider DEI a top priority. In The State of Diversity Recruiting in 2021 research, Fairygodboss found that 96% of companies consider diversity recruiting a top priority, as well.

DEIB Technology Market

With the renewed interest also came new vendors to the market, actually enough to find a new category of HR Technology called DEIB tech (DEIB standing for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging). This new category has grown exponentially in the past two years. HR Tech analyst and expert, Stacia Garr of RedThread Research, estimated the global market size to be “$313 million and growing, up from $100 million in 2019.” Garr also noted that the number of DEIB tech vendors increased by 87% between 2019 and 2021. Even more, “the number of HR tech vendors offering features or functionalities that cater to DEIB as part of their solutions has increased by 136% since 2019.”

Companies Buying DEIB Tech Platforms

As CEO priorities change and new platforms become available, HR tech buyers have also changed over time. RedThread Research reports an increase in the percentage of enterprise organizations moving to purchase and adopt DEIB technology solutions -- specifically in the 10,000-50,000 employee range. They also report “the industries most likely to be DEIB tech customers are concentrated in knowledge industries, namely technology, financial, banking, and insurance.

9 DEIB Tech Platforms for Diversity Recruiting, Recruitment Marketing, Pay Equity, & Inclusion

1. Aleria

Aleria is an inclusion assessment platform that helps companies identify sources of bias and the outcomes those biases lead to in the organization. They run a series of simulations to uncover multiple possibilities and actively show how bias leads to certain outcomes in order to help companies understand what areas of the business need some support.

2. Culture Amp

Culture Amp is an employee engagement tool that helps companies measure employee satisfaction, build high performance teams, and predict turnover. But, what’s neat is that they have solutions specifically designed to help companies measure how inclusive their organization is.

3. Syndio

Syndio is a Seattle-based compensation equity platform that conducts ongoing pay audits to identify pay gaps as they arise. The proactive nature of their platform helps enterprise organizations not only find and resolve pay gaps, but actively prevent them as well.

4. Textio

Job descriptions are always a troubling subject for TA teams that care about DEIB. It’s been known for a long time now that most job descriptions are male-gendered, and women don’t apply to jobs with male-gendered job descriptions. Textio is a job description analysis software that helps companies improve their job descriptions.

5. Talvista

Talvista helps companies plan their hiring process with diversity and inclusion in mind. They support job description optimization, redacted resume reviews, and structured interviews to help people be more aware of bias with data-driven hiring.

6. Greenhouse

Greenhouse is an Applicant Tracking and Onboarding solution for mid to large-sized businesses. What’s unique and cool about their ATS is they have features for job seekers to record their names so hiring teams can get their name right the first time. They also offer candidate feedback surveys broken out by demographics to highlight areas in which the candidate experience may not be the same intersectionally.

7. Three Ears Media

For TA teams or hiring teams in need of some job description writing support, Three Ears Media is a great company that trains hiring teams to write better job descriptions. Think “writing like a marketer” v. “writing like a recruiter” training.

8. McKinsey & Company

One of the leading frustrations of DEIB is data. That’s why resources like McKinsey’s Women In the Workplace study that helps companies benchmark their company’s representation, diversity hiring data, and employee turnover across industries are so great. They publish findings in articles and reports which you can find here.

9. Fairygodboss

While many diversity recruiting solutions focus on reducing unconscious bias, Fairygodboss is an employer branding and recruitment marketing solution that helps companies attract, engage, and hire experienced women in technology, sales, and finance. More specifically, FGB’s dual approach helps 15 million women job seekers navigate their careers as part of their career community. Employer solutions provide a holistic branding and marketing solution that includes employee reviews, hiring events, and curated content that directs women to find their next job on FGB’s jobs platform.
