Over the course of COVID quarantines, many of us have felt a need to reconfigure and optimize our daily routines in a way that suits this new normal. Particularly our morning routines. 

The way we start our mornings sets the tone for the rest of the day, and it's key to develop a routine that works for you. Play to your strengths by implementing a structure that best gets your synapses firing and leaves you feeling in control of your day. By consulting the stars, we can garner a few tips for getting the most out of our mornings.


Always determined, ease your mind for the day by immediately tackling at least one thing on your to-do list. Because you feel more at home when you hit the ground running, release any built-up energy with a cardio-intense workout. Take a run around the block or stream a Pilates class online.


If there’s one sign you can be sure will appreciate a delicious meal, it’s Taurus. Treat yourself to a nice breakfast, and take time to really enjoy it! Your loyal nature dictates that once you’ve found something you enjoy, you’re likely to stick with it. Before you begin the rest of your day, be sure to fix yourself up a gourmet caffeinated beverage of your choosing, too.


As someone who values communication, start your morning off by reaching out to those who bring you joy. Return text messages to loved ones, then appease your intellectual side by digging into a pleasure read or catching up on the news. Staying informed and increasing your knowledge will set the tone for the rest of your day.


Lean into your emotional side by getting out your thoughts first thing in the morning. Free write to clear your head and make space for new feelings that will come to you throughout the day. Wrap yourself up in a plush bathrobe as you get ready for your day and soak in as much comfort as you can. Spray yourself with your favorite scent to carry that comfort with you.


Energetic and proud, get your blood pumping as soon as you begin your day. Jog around the block or use some weights at home to knock out an early morning strengthening workout. Gaining a sense of accomplishment first thing in the morning will keep you riding waves of happiness for the whole day. 


Your to-do lists are prepared way ahead of time, even as other zodiac signs may be struggling to fill theirs during quarantine. Start by reviewing your schedule each morning and making necessary adjustments to ensure that your day is on track. You can never be too prepared, after all! After double checking your schedule, kick your brain into gear by streaming a podcast that lets you learn something new — it doesn't have to be the news, either. 


Because being protective of others is so firmly ingrained in your nature, it’s crucial to fit time to care for yourself into your schedule. Incorporate indulgence into your day first thing in the morning by doing a gentle sheet mask and soaking in a bath. Treat yourself to your favorite morning pick-me-up so you’ll have the energy to help others throughout your day.


As someone devoted to uncovering the unconscious, meditate early in the morning and see what connections you’re able to make. Your desire for truth and facts means you should satiate your curiosity first thing in the morning so you don’t spend energy worrying throughout the day. Read the news early, so that you aren’t caught off guard later in the day.  


Ever the optimist, your routine should reflect your positive and upbeat nature.  Plug in your head phones and blast upbeat tunes to start your day off on the right track. Start your morning with a mini dance party to get your blood pumping. Then lean into your spontaneous nature, even now, by going on a bike ride or walk down a road you haven't traveled before. You never know what sights you may stumble across!


Responsible and determined, wake up early and kick things off with a workout. Pushing yourself first thing in the morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Quiet your self-criticism by repeating positive affirmations to yourself in the mirror before starting anything on your to-do list. Remind yourself of how much you’ve already accomplished instead of fixating on how much you have left to do.


Tap into your creative energy as soon as you wake up. Start your day off by tackling a creative project you’re working on. Diving in when your creativity is at its peak will make the rest of the day go smoothly. Satisfy your intellectual side by catching up on articles that pique your interest or a book that draws you in.


Though your ruling planet Neptune is most commonly associated with the sea, Neptune is also connected to dreams. Start your morning off by writing down any dreams that you remember. Stay in reflective mode by further leaning into your spirituality and meditating before your day begins.
