If you didn't already love Kate Hudson enough, lest you missed it, she's just announced a new partnership with Weight Watchers (which recently rebranded as WW to focus less on weight and more on wellness), through which she's showing some serious respect and love for her postpartum body. Instead of trying to "bounce back" after her pregnancy, Hudson is focusing her efforts on making conscious strides toward a healthier lifestyle.
The A-list actress and new mother, who actually wrote a book about healthy habits and has her own leisure-wear line, Fabletics, is keeping busy caring for her newborn baby while going back to work with an upcoming film role for which she'd like to lose 25 pounds. As the latest WW brand ambassador, she'll have a community of support beside her.
While she's looking to shed some weight, however, Hudson advocates for self-care, which can lead to weight loss but, overall, is beneficial to one's health and wellness. In fact, Hudson has been all over social media with photos of her post-pregnancy body, sharing her journey and what it means for her.
"I’m ready to start taking a little time in the day focusing on myself," she wrote on a post in November. "For me that means my health. Why? Because I wanna be around a long time for these three kiddos of mine. I know that some are curious about what that means and for all you moms (whether working or not working moms) it is the most challenging thing in the world to balance kids and personal time... I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work every day, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane."
Hudson revealed the news with Oprah, who has represented the lifestyle brand for years, via a Facetime call.
"Health and wellness is my number one and I always say that what works for me doesn't work for everyone," she said during the call. "I believe that we need to celebrate diversity in how each individual wants to celebrate their bodies. We aren't all going to enjoy the same workouts, outdoor activities, foods etc. I've become an Ambassador for the WW family because it is the perfect community for people to live healthy their own way and I love sharing this knowledge with you all!"
WW, Hudson says, is not a community for people who just want to lose weight; rather, it's a community of people supporting each other through a lifelong journey of wellness.
We certainly support you, Kate Hudson!
