Tapestry combines the magic of three iconic brands — Coach, Kate Spade New York and Stuart Weitzman — and their talented global workforce to stretch what’s possible.

The dynamic and diverse people who make up Tapestry and their brands result in different ideas intersecting and new thinking emerging. In essence, “we cultivate a place for people who are both warm and rigorous, work that is both challenging and fun, a culture led by both head and heart,” says Tapestry. “Most of all, we bring together the unique spirits of our people and our brands and give them a place to move their work and our industry forward.

To achieve their goals, Tapestry continuously builds on their world-class capabilities, delivers boldly on their corporate responsibility goals and leverages their strengths, from financial power to digital expertise. All of this is in the service of developing their people, growing their brands and better serving their customers and communities.

To learn more about why employees worldwide love working at Tapestry, read on...

How an inclusive culture brings magic to the Tapestry brand.

“We’re always on a journey to becoming our best, but you can count on this: Here, your voice is valued, your ambitions are supported, and your work is recognized. We believe that difference sparks brilliance, so we welcome people and ideas from everywhere to join us in stretching what’s possible.”

At Tapestry, encouraging employees to stay true to themselves is core to who they are. After all, they know that people do their best work when they “embrace difference by design.” That’s why Tapestry is committed to being a brand with an innovative, equitable, inclusive and diverse global work environment. To help foster this environment, Tapestry has an Inclusion Council, which leads the global integration of their EI&D strategy. The Inclusion Council consists of employees from across Tapestry, Coach, Kate Spade New York and Stuart Weitzman.

Further, as part of this emphasis on diversity and inclusion, Tapestry hosts four employee resource groups (ERGs) to create spaces for communities and allies to connect, build support networks and influence business strategy. These are the:

  1. Black Alliance, which is committed to building a legacy of equity and inclusion through the advancement and promotion of Black employees at Tapestry.

  2. Prouder Together, which has a mission to celebrate LGBTQ+ employees and allies at Tapestry by building an inclusive community across all brands by encouraging, supporting and mentoring others at work; connecting employee identity with brand products and supporting local communities through philanthropic volunteering.

  3. Working Parents and Caregivers, which has a mission to support all types of families through all phases by providing resources, guidance and encouragement to assist in the work-life balancing act.

  4. Asian Heritage Alliance ERG, which aims to foster cultural awareness of the diversity of the Asian community, contribute to the development and success of its members and empower the communities in which employees live and work.

In addition, there are three taskforces — Jewish Community & Allies, Latinx Community & Allies, Indigenous Community & Allies — that focus on increasing awareness about the cultural experiences and histories of these groups and celebrating their cultures. With all of these efforts, it comes as no surprise that Tapestry has been repeatedly recognized for their diverse and inclusive culture. Tapestry was featured on the Forbes 2021 “Best Employers for Women” list as well as on the Forbes 2021 “Best Employers for Diversity” list for the fourth consecutive year. Not only that, but for the seventh consecutive year, Tapestry achieved a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, earning the designation in 2021 as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”

As for their workforce composition, Tapestry’s workforce is currently made up of 79% women, 62% women in senior management and 50% of women directors on the board.

To learn more, let’s take a quick look at each individual brand.

Coach.

Founded in 1941 as a New York City family-run workshop, Coach has stood for style, quality and craftsmanship. Inspired by the vision of Creative Director Stuart Vevers and the inclusive and courageous spirit of its hometown, the brand makes beautiful things, crafted to last—for you to be yourself in.

As for their global team, Coach is committed to helping employees develop the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for ongoing success. They believe in the power of learning and offer both on-the-job experiences and formal professional development. They also believe in the importance of recognition, and celebrate outstanding individuals and team performance in formal company-wide and regional corporate and store award programs.

Kate Spade New York.

Kate Spade New York designs extraordinary things for the everyday. Their lifestyle brand offers something unique and universal. They are bold and optimistic and known for celebration. Joy causes a chain reaction, and for them, it starts with their internal community and the values that guide everything they do.

At Kate Spade New York, they believe that Joy Colors Life and their community is full of original people who strive, share, learn and lead. To this end, they believe that they are a culture more than a corporation — where people with their curiosity and ideas bring the brand to life from the inside out. And, this group of unique and innovative individuals are always “working together as a team, and we love cheering each other on,” the company explains.

Stuart Weitzman.

Stuart Weitzman shoes are designed for high fashion and high function. Known for over 35 years for its artisanal Spanish craftsmanship and precisely-engineered fit, the luxury footwear brand inspires women around the world to shine with confidence with every step.

The brand’s global team of passionate and dynamic talent include its skilled artisans in Spain dedicated to quality and craftsmanship, the design team in New York City devoted to creating the high-fashion, high-function looks that define the brand and its retail associates around the world focused on providing a thoughtful luxury experience. The brand values making bold moves, innovating at every turn and nurturing creativity, all the while working collaboratively, inclusively and always with the goal of letting its team members’ individual strengths shine through, so they “can collectively shine brighter as a team, together.”

The great benefits at Tapestry.

In addition to great workplace cultures, Tapestry and their three iconic brands also share a great selection of benefits. Two benefits we’d like to highlight are their:

  • Parental leave: New biological, adoptive and foster care parents who are primary caregivers will be eligible for fully paid parental leave up to a maximum of 12 weeks, through a combination of disability, supplemental salary continuation and paid parental leave. New parents who are not primary caregivers will be eligible for three weeks of paid parental leave.

  • Phased-in workplace reentry: Tapestry and their brands recognize that not all parents may be ready to immediately return to full-time work after taking a leave of absence to welcome a new child into their family. In an effort to accommodate the individual needs of their employees, they offer an additional, paid “Return to Work” program where employees may work a reduced schedule while earning their regular, full-time pay for a certain period of time.
