Yard Truck Operator - Forklift Operator

perator portion moves pallets and other materials through warehouse, supporting production requirements in those areas, as well as loading and unloading customer trailers. Forklift Operators also Power-Sort pallets by hand as part of their daily responsibilities in some locations. 50% Forklift 50% Yard Truck Driver

What You'll Do

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Forklifts must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand-sorting wooden pallets, when required
• Repairing wooden pallets using a nail gun, when required
• • Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck with the ability to maneuver 53' long trailers into tight spaces without causing damage
  • Perform daily equipment checks such as checking fluid levels, cleaning air filters, examining equipment for damage or leaks in addition to ensuring loads are secure.
  • Checking loads to ensure they are secure
  • Must be able to utilize yard management system
  • When applicable, must operate a forklift to move pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
  • When applicable, must stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
  • When applicable, must examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
  • Responsible for maintaining Relogistics performance expectations
  • Must maintain a clean & safe environment working environment that meets Relogistics standards

What You Need

• • 2 Years on Experience
  • Drivers license
  • Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail along with basic computer skills
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
  • Prior experience driving a yard truck or semi is a plus, not required
  • Understanding that overtime may be required and is considered mandatory
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, lumber, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
