As a member of the Data Governance Product team, the Data Governance Manager is responsible for the vision and success of the organization's Data Discovery, Classification, Mapping, DSAR and Data Life cycle management capabilities and their delivery. This role reports to the VP of Data Governance and has 2 direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the product roadmap for data privacy and protection solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, including privacy, legal, compliance, IT, cybersecurity, audit and business units, to gather requirements and prioritize features.
Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data privacy and protection features and tools, ensuring they meet compliance standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to data privacy and security, ensuring robust protection mechanisms are in place.
Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data privacy and protection solutions.
Balance product and usability: Provide the right balance between implementing stringent data privacy and security capabilities while maintaining user friendly experiences.
User Training and Support: Provide training and support to users on data privacy and security tools and practices, ensuring proper usage and compliance.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-update on the latest data privacy and protection trends and technologies and continuously improve the product to meet evolving standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field and/or equivalent work experience required
5+ years of work experience in a Data product owner role with a focus on data privacy, protection and governance preferred
Thorough understanding of the product owner role, Vision/Roadmap creation, Portfolio/Program/Team Backlog creation, refinement and prioritization
Strong experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements to technology partners
Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills
Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (eg, CCPA/CPRA, Law 25, LGPD, GDPR, GLBA) and how technical implementations map to them.
Demonstrated experience implementing Data Discovery, Classification, Mapping, DSAR and Data Lifecycle products.
Demonstrated experience with data governance-privacy-security related technology solutions including BigID, OneTrust, Informatica CDGC.
Experience with cloud data technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Databricks
Exceptional organizational and project management skills and attention to detail
Licenses
CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT privacy certification preferred
