RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties can include any of the following: Contract Management, Sourcing, Category Management, Vendor Management, Process Development, and Procurement Operations
Conduct research on potential suppliers, market trends, and pricing benchmarks
Assist in gathering data for supplier evaluations and risk assessments
Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities
Prepare reports and dashboards to support category strategies and sourcing decisions
Assist in drafting RFXs, coordinate responses, and compile evaluation summaries
Support contract lifecycle activities including tracking expirations and renewals
Identify inefficiencies in procurement workflows and suggest improvements
Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Help update supplier profiles and manage purchase requisitions
Contributes to team effort by completing special projects as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Conform with all company policies and procedures
Skills
Ability to promote highly ethical practice of the Procurement function
Strong use of market knowledge and standard processes to source contractors and suppliers, and ability to liaise with them to ensure optimum service, including quality, and cost-effective goods/services
Proficient knowledge of contract terms and conditions and knowledge of information security practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills required, this incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders
Strong analytic skills, ability to understand strategies and business-related concepts
Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Ability to perform under pressure and to adjust to changing priorities
Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (including Excel, Word and Access)
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelor's or higher from an accredited college or university in Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution or related areas with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship required
Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4 point scale) GPA
Junior or Senior classification preferred
Working Conditions
Summer internship is full-time for 11 weeks (5/27/2026- 8/8/2026)
Hybrid Work Model (2 days a week in-office)
Internship will be based in Fort Worth, TX
Must participate in all GMF sponsored events for interns
