Responsibilities
About The Role:
The Manager Information Technology (IT) Asset Management, under the general direction from the AVP Global Infrastructure Services will oversee the lifecycle management of IT assets, and directly manage others providing guidance, direction and specific task delegation as needed. Manager IT Asset Management is responsible for designing asset management strategies and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Implement strategic asset management programs to optimize asset utilization and minimize costs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align asset management processes with organizational goals.
Manage IT asset inventories and ensure data accuracy
Track asset lifecycle from procurement to disposal
Collaborate with financial departments for asset audits
Provide data analysis and reports for asset performance
Assist in compliance with asset management standards
Provide coordination and administrative support in the areas of oversight, quality control and continuous monitoring of information to resolve issues preventing optimal delivery of IT infrastructure technical services
Collaborate with external and internal customers to understand requirements and ensure that the IT Asset Management team consistently provides excellent customer service
Provide general direction, guidance and follow industry best practices in the management of all IT hardware and software assets
Develop and implement improvement recommendations for established policies, practices, standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes related to asset management
Identify and direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms
Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and implement or revise new processes to improve the efficiencies in Hardware and Software asset management
Overseeing the process of the inventorying of IT hardware and the reconciliation analysis on a routine basis for GMF locations
Perform proactive routine compliance audits of current software entitlements and monitor license reclamation
Create recommendations on how to better manage and reconcile inventory and related reporting
Coordinate with purchasing department, desktop, network, server, storage and telecom support teams on hardware purchases and receipt tracking
Submit purchase requisitions for hardware and software, coordinating with purchasing and IT Support teams
Understand ISO best practices and strategies for better hardware/software management
Communicate with management and business partners on various hardware and software options
Work closely with internal business units to facilitate hardware and software compliance and life cycle management
Creating customized reports and comparisons to ensure repository accuracy
Escalate complex or consequential issues to management
Understand and promote the GM Financial policy on Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) to ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern the GM Financial business and complete all regulatory knowledge training where applicable in a timely fashion

Qualifications
What Makes You A Dream Candidate?
Knowledge of ITIL-based processes a plus
Experience in dealing with multiple business units and diverse employee population
Experience monitoring and reporting for performance and financial metrics/KPIs
Thorough working knowledge of procurement and vendor relationship management
Knowledge of/experience with ServiceNow platform is a plus
Strong Internet/Web software, tools and other productivity applications are a plus
Professional IT Asset Management certifications
Effective time management, prioritization, negotiation, and delegation skills to meet expected delivery dates and understand the tasks necessary to achieve objectives

Advanced technical writing
Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products
Advanced information security standards/frameworks (ie, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001) skills
Advanced experience with Network and VLAN segmentation

Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred
7-10 years Experience in IT Asset Management or related field required
4-6 years experience in Informationsystems with emphasis on Strategic Planning or Lifecycle Management preferred
2-4 years Relevant IT Management experience preferred
ITIL Foundation Certification preferred
Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) preferred
Certified Software Asset Management Professional (CSAM) preferred
Certified in IT Asset Disposal (CITAD) preferred
Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) preferred
Certified Asset Management Security Expert (CAMSE) preferred
