    Position summary

    closely with the Data Management Director, the DPO collaborates with key stakeholders to establish a data strategy that aligns with business goals. This involves assessing data maturity and determining necessary data sources across Ahold and Delhaize.

    • Enhance and Execute Product Roadmap: This role is responsible for translating the data strategy and overseeing the execution of product vision, identifying key features and creating a flexible roadmap for development in collaboration with our technology partners and Data program team. They manage the development process of data products with key deliverables on Data catalog, business glossary, data profiling/lineage, and supporting project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management, ensuring that products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

    • Ensure Data Quality: A DPO is responsible for working closely with the MDM and Data Quality and controls team to ensure the quality, security, and governance of the data used in products, ensuring compliance with company policies.

    • Drive Adoption: With key stakeholder collaboration with direction from Domain executive and Domain leader, the DPO works to drive adoption of product release/data governance among users, ensuring that the data products effectively address business challenges. This includes developing training, boot camps for data stewards and ensuring we develop internal data champions. Chairs the Data Governance Working group meetings.

    • With direction from the Data Management Director, the Data Product Owner will also serve as the principal liaison between the Finance and Accounting teams (accounting, GL, AP, AR, Retail Accounting/Inventory, SAP Finance Solutions, BPC reporting, FP&A), technology development teams and Finance Reporting & analytics team (developers, data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts). This role will own full life cycle Product strategy from concept & development to deployment and execution for Finance Data and drive step change improvements in operations.

    • Works closely with Reporting Product Owner to understand the Data Lake (Data Bricks). Experience with meta data management and integration with data governance practices is a plus.

    • This leader will lead overall product and future developments that drive automated decisions with data science and machine learning to improve performance in operations. This leader is responsible for managing all communications with colleagues, stakeholders, and leadership regarding all elements of their product portfolio. Having a solid understanding of software development agile practices and data science & machine learning practices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead strategic product direction and prioritize development efforts for long term data management within finance transformation roadmap.

    • Lead the evolution of data management team from a BAU support/issue management, data projects to a product focused development team.

    • Partner with cross-functional teams comprised of both business roles and technical development during the life cycle of product development.

    • Vet scope, requirements, use case/user scenario, test case documents and design specifications, in partnership with UX, product managers, QA and design.

    • Develop metrics to measure success of program features, analyze results, and partner across the organization to develop action plans and enhancement recommendations

    • Collaboratively translate Data Management, Finance Reporting & Analytics proof of concepts into scalable products through IT partnerships

    • Supports overall IT relationships, budgeting process, prioritization, and resource allocation in collaboration with IT leads

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's in business/finance/data science, Supply Chain Management; MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or similar discipline preferred

    • 3-6 years of relevant experience in Data Management, Analytics, Product Management, or Data Product Development

    • Strong knowledge of data management platform, data governance processes and tools, project management tools (Jira, Confluence), analytical techniques, and analytics tools (SQL, PowerBI, Python, Microsoft Azure)

    • Agile Methodology

    • Technical Savvy: A DPO must understand data architecture and technology choices that impact product performance and scalability.

    • Business Acumen: They should have a strong grasp of business metrics and how data products can drive value.

    • Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for translating business needs into technical requirements and for managing stakeholder expectations.

    • Conflict Resolution: DPOs often mediate between different stakeholders and teams, requiring strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

    • Experience in data functions, data science, finance and accounting operations including SAP, FP&A, and Brand Finance Operations.
