The Data Governance S enior Analyst contributes to the overall success of Allstate's Data Governance program by ensuring that short- and long-term strategic objectives are met . T his role involve s enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain data integrity ensuring it supports business objectives . An excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst looking to enhance their understanding of Data Governance as a practitioner.
Accountabilities:
Assist in the rollout of Allstate's Data Governance (DG) platfor m by onboarding authoritative data sources into Informatica 's Intelligent Data Management Cloud .
Provide support to lines of business and project teams on the execution of Data Practices (DP) such as Data Catalog, Data Quality, Classification and Metadata Management.
Act as the go-to person to ensure DP initiatives are completed from start to finish.
Manage DG activities such council meetings, issue management, reporting and communications.
Perform a nalysis and manipulation of large structured and unstructured datasets .
Provide DG guidance on best practices for Amazon services ( DataZone and S3).
Track metrics and program milestones for reporting to senior management.
Qualifications:
Between 2 to 4 years of experience combined with a post-secondary d egree in a quantitative field of study such as Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration.
Analytical mindset, structured thinker and an effective communicator.
Expert level in Excel and Visio.
Expert level writing and documenting SQL code.
Experience working with Technical Metadata from structured data.
Experience defining and maturing Business Metadata from authoritative data sources .
Experience defining Data Quality rules and thresholds with d ata p roducers.
Experience with Data Profiling techniques to assess data integrity.
Experience analyzing data issues, perform root cause analysis and provide solutions.
Knowledge of industry standards such DCAM/DAMA or CDMP.
Knowledge of Agile Framework (Scrum, Kanban)
Bonus qualification :
Knowledge and experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools using Informatica (preferred), Alation, Collibra, Purview is a plus.
