We are seeking a Sr. Revenue Recognition Specialist who will be part of the global Revenue team responsible for supporting the "quote to cash" cycle. The successful candidate will a strong foundation in technical accounting (specifically revenue recognition) and be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment, interacting with our deal strategy, deal desk, sales, legal, and product departments during the quote and customer negotiation process, and with accounting department colleagues' post-sales.

Responsibilities include:
Review and evaluate customer contracts for compliance with internal policies and US GAAP (ASC 606), ensuring that revenue has been properly and timely recognized and that the overall economics of the deal are in line with company targets/goals
Perform contract analysis including relevant documentation of management's assessment and results in accordance with ASC 606 and Company established internal controls
Primary focus of responsibility on bookings and revenue recognition.
Act as technical resource to Sales, Deal Desk, Deal Strategy and Legal teams on deal negotiation by participating in discussions, reviewing draft orders, and providing revenue recognition recommendations and deal terms that maximize revenue outcomes.
Review and support negotiating key contractual terms ensuring non-standard language is drafted consistently with written approvals. Promote contract language that avoids revenue recognition issues and facilitates revenue accounting accuracy.
Support training and review of junior team members.
Support internal and external audits on revenue related issues.
Participating in ad-hoc project and initiatives as assigned, including technical revenue accounting research preparing memos documenting revenue recognition policies, and more.
Qualifications:
BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of assurance/audit experience in Public Accounting. Big 4 or national tiered firm preferred.
Demonstrate technical knowledge and thorough understanding of GAAP including revenue recognition rules (ASC 606) as well as the ability to apply judgment within defined policies and practices
Prior experience in revenue accounting and/or the Enterprise Software/SaaS B2B industry preferred
Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite and ARM a plus
Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication (both written and oral) and collaboration skills required
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Compensation:
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The "On Target Earnings" (OTE) for this role in the United States is $106,000.00 - $150,000.00.
