    Overview:

    The Alteryx, Inc. UX team is growing and we are looking for a Team Lead, Product Design, to lead our newly created team in India. Work location is in Bangalore.

    As team lead for UX Design you are responsible for overseeing a team of Product Designers, which in turn create the designs for Alteryx's products and features. As the leader of this team, you will partner with other Team Leads and UX Leadership to help drive the future of Alteryx design. As a UX leader, you will foster relationships with your product managers and other departments, guide communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution, further product knowledge, and help nurture the career growth of the team.

    You will build a collaborative environment to implement processes, help drive User Experience improvements, and work with UX leadership to help develop strategies to improve the effectiveness of the UX team. We believe in transparency and cooperation and will look to you to manage issues with your team, partnering with UX Leadership on effective resolutions when they affect the overall stability of the organization.

    This role is considered to be partially an individual contributor role accompanied with team leadership and management responsibilities. You will report to the UX Manager located in Prague, Czech Republic, who will help provide clear direction on priorities, processes, and principles to instill and drive with your team.

    Position Details:

    As an effective Team Lead, you will:

    · Leverage industry expertise to coach, motivate and provide direction and feedback to UX associates.

    · Provide career guidance and counseling in the form of annual goals (as aligned with organizational OKRs) coupled with personal & professional development.

    · Hold weekly 1:1 with team members, maintaining an environment of transparency, support and open communication.

    · Guide Product Designers in proper functional flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, UI/interaction Design, and UX Research opportunities.

    · Build strong partnerships with leaders across the organization and evaluate requirements to create effective UX strategies that deliver strong business impact and align to the company's overall strategy.

    · Wor with the UX Research team to coordinate research roadmap.

    · Ability to collaborate with product managers and prioritize work for the team and individually so that quality expectations are met while maintaining reasonable timelines in an Agile environment

    · Manage a team of UX Designers, who are responsible for developing user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes that translate business needs and user stories into intuitive and engaging experiences.

    · Leverage best practices from Design and UX disciplines and encourages teams to engage in and lead Design Thinking practices.

    · Balance team bandwidth to set design timelines that meet the needs of the release schedule.

    · Work closely with development teams to guide the implementation and iteration of designs and verifies that the final deliverables provide a quality user experience and meet design specifications.

    · Fosters the development of UX initiatives across the organization

    · Work with Product Managers to share successes and drive the overall effectiveness of processes and work priorities used by the UX department.

    · Work with Product Management leadership to help define the Alteryx product roadmap and present it to internal audiences.

    · Help maintain the timeliness of UX deliverables based on agreed-upon timelines.

    · Provide feedback and direction on designs as well as creating designs.

    · Review team designs with UX Leadership on a cadence appropriate for understanding new products, patterns and flows early in the design process.

    As an effective leader, you will:

    · Collaborate with UX leadership and Team Leads to communicate and drive the vision and strategy of the UX Org.

    · Oversee and coordinate UX design quality and consistency across multiple related products.

    · Understand the competitive UX landscape, impact of customer feedback, and how to work with engineering to weigh technical feasibility and scheduling with design.

    · Leverage telemetry and other business data to understand UX/UI performance against product KPIs, presenting key findings and adjustments to push innovation.

    As an effective product designer (individual contributor), you will:

    · Design user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes considering existing applications using Figma

    · Understand product specifications and user psychology based on user testing, discovery workshops with stakeholders and collaborative working sessions with other Product Designers

    · Developing and maintaining wireframes (basic mock-ups of applications) and specifications while keeping eye on cross-product consistency

    · Collaborate with product managers and developers.

    · Work closely with the development teams to guide the implementation of designs.

    Requirements:

    · BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

    · You have an outstanding portfolio, showcasing several great examples of real work you've shipped and what you learned along the way.

    · 4-6 years of experience in a UX/UI role, solid design expertise; 2 years experience in the team lead role.

    · Previous experience managing teams.

    · History of personnel management and track record of career development.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Project management skills; problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.

    · A strong sense of teamwork and an ability to influence at all levels. Our team deeply values collaboration.

    · Expert level understanding of tools such as Figma, or other similar design and prototyping tools.

    · Experience in an Agile environment, including Jira and Confluence.

    · Understanding of practical UX applications for complex products and multiple product verticals

    · Demonstrable history of working with product management and engineering teams to deliver projects.

    · Some knowledge of capabilities and limitations of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS would be helpful

    · Experience with Design Systems.

    · Understanding and experience with Data Science applications and/or Data Connectivity area would be extremely helpful
