This leader mentors and develops a team of data scientists, ensuring delivery of high-quality analytical solutions and alignment with enterprise data platforms and strategies. The position also helps prioritize high-value projects and guides resource, funding, and strategic decisions to maximize the impact of data science within clinical development.
Responsibilities
Technical Vision & Innovation:
Collaborate with Sr. Directors Data Science/Engineering to set the technical vision, mission, and strategy for the CfDA Data Science group.
Continually assess and introduce cutting-edge technologies, ideas, and state-of-the-art ML/AI methodologies for clinical development.
Project Identification & Leadership:
Lead the execution of major data science projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Run cross functional project teams and delivers project end to end
Mentorship & Team Development:
Mentor and guide a team of data scientists, fostering technical growth and expertise.
Collaborate closely with IS/other analytical organizations to ensure alignment on analytical platforms and data strategies.
Accountabilities
Coordinate with Data Science Head to help set vision, mission, and strategy for CfDA Data Sciences group
Identify high-value projects across Clinical Development
Advise Data Science Head during prioritization, resource, and funding decisions
Establish annual goals for CfDA Data Scientists
Ensures CfDA Data Scientists team delivers high-quality deliverables
Coordinates with IS / other analytical organizations on analytical platform and data strategies
This position is currently located at Amgen India (Hyderabad).

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or work-related experience OR
Master's degree and 18 years of Scientific and/or work-related experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 20 years of Scientific and/or work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or similar field
10+ years of experience in clinical research and/or predictive analytics
Wide experience analyzing clinical trial, real world, and/or 'omics data
Specialization in few ML areas ( NLP, Vision, Bayesian Modelling) and provide mentorship to different groups
Led big projects in previous or current roles
Experience of working with Senior Leadership
