    What you will do

    Let's do this. Let's change the world. The Executive Director, Site of Care (SoC) lead is a pivotal role at Amgen. This individual will build, scale, and lead a high-performing team responsible for optimizing SoC strategies across the Rare Disease Business Unit. This executive will be accountable for developing and executing strategies that enable optimal patient access, provider engagement, and infusion site operations that reflect the unique needs of rare disease therapies-often involving high-touch, complex care delivery models. This role requires an exceptional ability to partner with and influence across Amgen's commercial and medical leaders.

    Key activities and accountabilities in core areas include the following:

    Strategic Leadership

    • Define and own the Site of Care vision and long-term roadmap for rare disease product delivery

    • Partner with the VP of Patient Access, the Patient Access & Services LT, Rare Disease Brand & Sales leaders and other executive leaders to drive alignment of SoC with broader business strategy

    • Lead SoC strategic planning, forecasting, and KPI development to ensure scalability and adaptability across therapeutic areas

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Lead cross-functional alignment with Market Access, Field Reimbursement, Medical Affairs, Trade & Pricing, Contracting, Payor and Commercial teams to ensure seamless patient journey and product delivery

    • Partner with Government Affairs and Policy teams to anticipate regulatory shifts and proactively shape policy to enable SoC flexibility and access

    • Partner internally (Patient Access & Services) with Hub Services Patient Access Liaison Field Teams, Marketing and Training to accelerate full capability success for patients

    Site Network Optimization

    • Establish and expand a national network of qualified infusion and administration sites aligned with rare disease patient needs

    • Ensure appropriate training, compliance, and operational capabilities across all SoC partners and stakeholders

    • Implement real-world data feedback loops and analytics to monitor SoC performance and drive continuous improvement

    Customer and Patient Centricity

    • Ensure SoC solutions are built with a deep understanding of patient journeys, health equity, and access challenges specific to rare diseases

    • Elevate the voice of the patient and healthcare provider in SoC model development and execution

    Team Development and Leadership

    • Build and lead a high-performing SoC team with expertise in market access, operations, and site enablement

    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and purpose-driven performance

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating the vision, strategy, and impact of omnichannel and technology initiatives

    Capability Liaison & Thought Leadership

    • Stay abreast of digital trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in the biotechnology and healthcare industries, positioning the company as a leader in digital innovation

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Doctorate degree & 6 years of patient access, provider engagement, or infusion site operations experience OR

    • Master's degree & 10 years of patient access, provider engagement, or infusion site operations experience OR

    • Bachelor's degree & 12 years of patient access, provider engagement, or infusion site operations experience AND

    • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 15+ years of industry experience, with at least 5 years focused on rare diseases, specialty biologics, or infused therapies

    • Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare system dynamics related to infusion networks, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy models, and hub services

    • Experience launching or supporting launch of rare disease therapies with complex administration or reimbursement requirements

    • Influencing skills, and ability to engage, influence, and align stakeholders at all levels, including board members, investors, and external partners

    • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact

    • Financial acumen, with experience in budget management, financial modeling, and ROI analysis for large-scale investments.

    • Executive presence with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

    • ~30-40% domestic travel required for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and industry engagement
