    Position summary

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in Storage & Backup Infrastructure and have a passion for fostering innovation and excellence in the biotechnology industry. Additionally, collaboration with cross-functional and global teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NetApp, Dell and Rubrik service delivery and operations, coupled with leadership and transformation experience. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational strategic initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality results in a matrixed organizational structure. Please note, this is an onsite role based in Hyderabad.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Lead and develop a strong team of infrastructure engineers through recruitment, performance management, and career development

    • Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.

    • Responsible for the 24x7x365 operations aspects of Storage & Backup Infrastructure service delivery at all Amgen locations.

    • Establish and maintain operational metrics, SLAs, and performance standards

    • Monitor and lead enterprise Storage & Backup infrastructure

    • Lead incident response and problem management.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

    • Generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, availability, and incident analysis

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in infrastructure operations

    • Optimize resource allocation and shift coverage for 24/7 operations

    • Partner with business collaborators to understand and support organizational needs

    • Maintain strategic relationships and strong communication with the US based Storage & Backup Architecture and Engineering teams and Infrastructure Service Owners.

    • Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams, including those in the US and other international locations.

    • Contribute to Operation Reviews of IT services covering Customer Satisfaction, SLA performance, and Operational metrics.

    Basic Qualifications and Experience:

    • Master's degree and 12+ years of experience in Infrastructure Operations, with at least 5 years in management experience OR

    • Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience in Infrastructure Operations, with at least 6 years in management experience

    • Demonstrated experience in managing infrastructure services and teams with a track record of successful innovation

    • Experience in people management and leading matrixed teams, and passion for mentorship, culture and fostering the development of talent.

    • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple activities and priorities with minimal direction in a rapidly changing and demanding environment.

    • Exceptional collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage collaborator relationships and build new partnerships.

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

    • Experience in a leadership role within a pharmaceutical or technology organization

    • Strong analytic/critical-thinking and decision-making abilities.

    • DevOps, S/W development and scripting

    • Good knowledge of industry tools

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Professional Certifications:

    • Management certifications (PMP, ITIL, Agile) (preferred)

    • Storage & Backup (e.g. NetApp, Isilon, Rubrik) related certifications - Preferred

    Shift Information:
    This position is an on-site role and may require working during later hours to align with business hours. Candidates must be willing and able to work outside of standard hours as required to meet business needs.
