    Senior Manager IS - Endpoint Engineering

    What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for the design, architecture and management of the end user computing platform, designing and maintaining technology standards based on industry best practices, managing a technology roadmap, and proposing and developing new solutions based on business strategy. The IS Senior Manager will work with the broader IS and business organization to deliver solutions, serve as a domain specialist in end-user computing technology, manage governance and compliance to the standards, and drive focus on delivering excellent customer experience. As a people manager, the organizational duties will include handling resource demand and capacity, staff performance management and talent development.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Delivering a seamless, secure, and outstanding user experience.

    • Identifying ways to enhance business value from Amgen's device technology.

    • Leading the technical team to define, architect, and handle the end-user computing environment, including PCs, mobile devices, and VDI.

    • Building and maintaining the systems, tools, policies, and processes to deliver and support application and workforce services on end-user devices enterprise-wide.

    • Communicating device benefits to colleagues and guiding governance and enablement teams on impactful, partner-focused changes.

    • Tracking, reporting, and leading key metrics to demonstrate gains in stability, usage, and efficiency.

    • Supervising testing and qualification of all desktop/laptop software and updates to meet compliance and audit standards.

    • Designing and developing the next-generation desktop platform through Modern Device Management (MDM).

    • Maintaining short- and long-term strategies and roadmaps for all device types, including laptops, desktops, manufacturing systems, virtual desktops (AWS VDI), and iOS devices.

    • Providing technical guidance of device vendors and tracking their product roadmaps.

    • Handling vendor critical issues for open tickets and requests.

    • Actively engaging in high-priority outages, solving, and capacity and availability planning.

    • Defining architectural solutions through business reviews, current-state analysis, and implementation of industry standard methodologies in collaboration with operations, enablement, and enterprise architecture.

    • Lead strategic Information Systems projects and initiatives.

    • Leading and developing an engineering team, driving talent growth and conducting performance evaluations.

    What we expect of you

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Doctorate degree / Master's degree / Bachelor's degree and 12 to 17 years of Information Systems experience.

    • Three years of experience in people management or leading teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation.

    Functional Skills:

    • Skilled in designing solutions for Digital Workspace technologies, including mobility, virtualization, and end-user devices.

    • Experience creating strategic execution plans to address gaps between current and future business goals.

    • Expert in applying enterprise architecture frameworks to enhance reliability and support multi-functional decisions.

    • Proficient with iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows 10/11, and virtualization technologies.

    • Experienced in collaborating with DevOps and Agile teams.

    • Strong background in system orchestration and integration.

    • Proven UEM expertise (Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Jamf) in provisioning, deployment, updates, and policy management.

    • Skilled in automation using PowerShell and Bash scripting.

    • Experienced in packaging software for large-scale deployment on Windows and Mac.

    • Track record of delivering business-aligned solutions that drive digital transformation across functions.

    Professional Certifications:

    • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for Teams (preferred)

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication with customers, team members, and management.

    • Positive, proactive attitude focused on service improvement and going above and beyond.

    • Proven experience managing outsourced partners for device deployments, OS updates, and quality testing.

    • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
