ces where designers assume the tools will catch problems but sometimes do not.
Working with customers is where you do your best work. You like the challenge of understanding their design constraints, their schedule pressures, and their toolchain quirks, then figuring out how to make the solution fit their reality, not the other way around. You have run enough competitive benchmarks to know what actually differentiates one simulator from another, and you can explain that difference to a skeptical design lead or a VP who wants proof, not promises.
You do not just answer questions, you see patterns. When a customer hits the same issue twice, you build a script or a methodology that prevents it from happening again. You are comfortable making judgment calls about which method or technique will get the best result, and you can bring people along when you propose a new direction. At Synopsys, you will work with semiconductor design teams across Israel, helping them adopt and succeed with signoff solutions that came from the Ansys acquisition and are now core to how we serve the market.
What You'll Be Doing
Support customers using Totem and related Synopsys signoff simulation products for transistor-level power integrity, analog circuit analysis, and mixed-signal verification from evaluation through production tape-out
Run competitive benchmarks and product evaluations for prospective customers, demonstrating technical superiority and building the case for adoption with design teams and management
Deliver hands-on training, methodology development, and tapeout support to ensure customers extract maximum value from Synopsys tools in their analog backend flows
Partner with Sales to identify technical challenges at new and existing accounts, then develop and demonstrate solutions that drive product utilization and retention
Provide advanced support on complex designs involving power-grid extraction, noise analysis, ESD protection, and embedded memory/IP characterization
Develop automation scripts and utilities using Perl, Tcl, or Python to streamline customer workflows, troubleshoot tool issues, and extend product capabilities
Collaborate with R&D and Product Marketing to communicate customer feedback, influence product roadmaps, and contribute to initiatives that improve usability and performance
The Impact You Will Have
Drive increased adoption and usage of Synopsys signoff solutions across the Israeli semiconductor market, both in new accounts and through deeper penetration of existing customers
Enable customers to achieve faster, cleaner tape-outs by identifying power integrity and signoff issues early and providing expert guidance on resolution
Strengthen Synopsys's competitive position by running benchmarks that clearly demonstrate technical advantages and building customer confidence in our solutions
Accelerate sales cycles by translating complex technical capabilities into clear business value that resonates with design teams and decision-makers
Influence future product development by providing R&D with real-world use cases, methodology gaps, and feature requests grounded in customer needs
Build long-term customer relationships that increase product retention, expand footprint, and generate reference accounts for future opportunities
Help integrate and position the Totem product line following the Ansys acquisition, ensuring customers experience continuity and see the value of the combined portfolio
What You'll Need
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in semiconductor design, specifically in analog backend design flow, simulation, and physical design
Deep domain knowledge in analog circuit design, transistor-level power integrity analysis, power-grid extraction, noise analysis, and ESD protection methodologies
Hands-on experience with CAD tools for layout, extraction formats like SPEF/DSPF, and analog simulation in a production design environment
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, or Python for workflow automation, debugging, and custom utility development
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical solutions to both engineers and management
Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as applications engineering, field applications, or design services is a strong advantage
Familiarity with competitive signoff and power integrity tools and the ability to articulate technical differentiation is a plus
Who You Are
You can walk into a pre-sales meeting, run a benchmark on a customer's real design, and explain the results in a way that makes the technical win clear without overselling
You understand what customers actually need, not just what they ask for, and you are comfortable guiding them toward the right solution even when it requires changing their approach
You exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques to solve problems, and you do not wait for permission to try a new approach when the standard one is not working
You can juggle multiple customer engagements, a competitive evaluation, a tapeout support issue, and a product feedback session with R&D, without losing track of commitments or quality
You bring new ideas and solutions to the table, and you are persuasive enough to get customers, Sales, and internal teams to support a new direction when it makes sense
You network naturally across functions, building relationships with R&D, Marketing, Sales, and customer technical leads to get things done and drive results
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join the Customer Applications Engineering team focused on driving Synopsys signoff solutions into the semiconductor market. The team works closely with Sales, R&D, and Product Marketing to support both pre-sales technical evaluations and post-sales customer success. You will report to a regional manager and collaborate with engineers across the organization who are integrating the Totem product line from the Ansys acquisition into the broader Synopsys portfolio. The role is based in Haifa or Ra'anana and supports customers across Israel.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
