As a hands-on application expert for Ansys solutions in your application area electromagnetics simulation techniques you will provide technical sales support, deliver professional services, ensure customer productivity through training and methodology support, and help translate customer requirements into new product features.
You will work in multidisciplinary teams to contribute to end-to-end simulation solutions, expand your application domain and industry knowledge, and support the growth of the Ansys business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Leads the coordination and execution of all technical activities throughout the lifecycle of a sales opportunity, e.g. technical discovery, negotiation of technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations. Works independently, results-oriented, across teams and organizations.
As a credible hands-on expert in the customer's application, you will work with customers to better understand their product development requirements and what they need to improve their performance metrics. You will address application-specific design and simulation requirements by utilizing the relevant Ansys product technologies and platforms that best meet the customer's needs. You will internalize the Ansys value proposition and convince the customer of the compelling reasons to use Ansys tools.
Support the development of differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and our products; implement our Ansys solutions into your customers' design workflows. Expand your expertise and become a recognized expert in your field of application.
Collaborate with the Ansys Product Development to translate customer requirements into new product features; participate in the testing of new Ansys product releases, develop application best practices
Support the Ansys Field and Digital Marketing team by developing promotional materials and supporting events, author conference presentations.
Contribute to and lead professional service deliveries and conduct training classes.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0
Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys' business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers
Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time
A solid understanding of the basic principles of electromagnetic fields and RF circuit design such as filters, impedance matching networks, amplifiers and mixers
Industrial experience related to radar, antenna design, millimeter wave circuits, wireless systems or related topics.
Familiarity with one or more commercial simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Feko, Keysight Momentum, CST Microwave Studio, Mentor HyperLynx, or Cadence Clarity
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on RF, electromagnetic fields, radar, wireless systems or Signal and Power Integrity and EMI/EMC
Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3
2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
Experience with Matlab, Python, or another high-level programming language applied to solving problems in mathematics, engineering or physics
Familiarity with high performance computing and schedulers
Understanding of thermal and mechanical challenges in wireless and/or radar systems
