• Participate in planning, architecture, and research.
• Perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research.
• Employ best practices and help to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
• Perform complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
• Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
• Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
• May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities.
• May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study, and one (1) year of
experience in a related position.
• Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position, or a Bachelor's degree or foreign
equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a
related position.
• Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
• Experience with software design and development methodologies including C, C++, Python, numerical analysis, object-oriented design, software configuration
management, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms;
• Experience with software development using parallel programming techniques and migration of applications across various platforms;
• Knowledge of numerical linear algebra.
