You take a data-driven approach to event execution, with expertise in program leadership. You have experience building global event portfolio strategies and managing multiple event programs simultaneously, overseeing event strategy, execution, and post-event analysis end-to-end.
In this role, you will define and drive clear objectives and key results for the events portfolio and your team, ensuring they are tightly aligned with Global Events and broader Marketing priorities by leading a small team of event managers to produce events that align with business objectives for customers and partners across various verticals, products, and priorities, managing the team to create strategy and execute global flagship and touring events. You will manage vendor and venue partnerships, ensuring all stakeholders work together to provide seamless event experiences. Additionally, you will conduct leadership reviews and post-event debriefs to refine our strategy based on lessons learned, fostering strong relationships with business stakeholders. You and your team of event managers may also take on work stream leadership across the portfolio of events as needed, to support execution of Flagship events in the portfolio, ensuring strategic work streams are aligned to business outcomes and executed in alignment with brand and broader program objectives.

In this role, you will:
Lead a small team to successfully program manage an annual portfolio of customer and partner events
Collaborate with senior leadership to drive creation of strategy for the portfolio, defining event objectives, target audiences, and desired outcomes
Lead and develop event strategies and experiences with key stakeholders to ensure they align with overarching product roadmaps, event messaging pillars, business priorities and executive vision
Clearly communicate objectives, project status and updates to team members and stakeholders on a regular basis
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and evolve strategy for a large‑scale, complex global event portfolio, owning initiatives and experiments that require navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and partnering across multiple cross-functional orgs.
Drive cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, and Partner ecosystem stakeholders to deliver high impact customer-facing events, while navigating competing priorities and making strategic trade-offs when needed.
Understand customer needs and how both in-person and digital events can and should deliver against those needs to achieve business objectives, for internal and external audiences
Leverage a data-driven approach to build insights and strategies, and be an expert in event measurement and ROI tracking. Ensure you and your team effectively leverage data-driven insights to optimize your event portfolio and programs.
Design event experiences that engage, educate, and entertain attendees while reflecting the company's values
Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously up-level your team and the events you drive, enhancing the attendee experience and incorporating new insights and innovations into future events
Proactively identify risks (ex: operational, financial, customer experience) and lead cross‑functional problem‑solving to identify root causes, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
Have demonstrated contract negotiation skills and experience
Design and build key operational structures and processes to ensure the team works efficiently and effectively together, ensuring flexibility when needed, while managing cross-functional teams globally to committed deadlines
Continually align and evolve event program strategies to the needs of the business, ensuring processes, guidelines and standards are maintained throughout
Explore and manage best in class agency partners that help Atlassian create and pioneer best in class experiences
Manage and be accountable for complex event budgets including monetization and funding models including revenue modeling, contract risk mitigations, attrition and forecasting, plus reconcile invoices in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and timely closeout of programs
Deliver with superb communication skills in helping build and tell the ROI story of events

Your background:
10+ years experience in event marketing related role/s in or with a brand side corporation, or agency who supports them
7+ years experience working with a high growth enterprise technology company/client
Previous experience managing people, from early-in-career to senior IC's, with demonstrated ability to lead through change.
Excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to present ideas and concepts to senior and executive level employees clearly, strategically, and succinctly
Direct experience and ownership producing various-sized event programs, with a strong eye for detail
Experience in all event marketing domains including event execution, event content, event tech, production and audience acquisition
Experience managing complex event strategies and portfolio strategy frameworks and recommendations
Compensation

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $156,600 - $204,450
Zone B: $141,300 - $184,475
Zone C: $130,500 - $170,375
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
