    Position summary

    technical leader for the IAM team in India, you will provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams. You'll collaborate closely with global architects and stakeholders across the broader IAM organization to shape and drive platform strategy and execution. This position reports to the Senior Director of the IAM Platform and is based in India.

    The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the architecture and design of modern Identity platforms, with a proven track record of delivering at scale in cloud-native environments.

    Responsibilities

    • Define and lead the cloud architecture and technical vision for scalable, distributed, data-intensive microservices.

    • Own the end-to-end architecture and hands-on engineering of secure, cloud-native IAM (AuthN/AuthZ) systems across Autodesk products and platforms, spanning design, implementation, and production operations.

    • Align cloud and platform strategies with business priorities, balancing near-term opportunities with long-term technical vision.

    • Champion cloud best practices in resiliency, scalability, observability, and cost optimization; drive engineering excellence through design/code reviews and clean, maintainable code.

    • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into cloud-ready, well-architected services.

    • Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and technical leadership in cloud-native development.

    • Lead the resolution of complex, cross-functional technical challenges with significant business impact.

    • Anticipate emerging business and technology challenges in the cloud ecosystem, proactively shaping solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

    • Strong Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and data management. Conversant in multiple programming languages

    • Thorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing concepts

    • Exceptional proficiency in Java or Golang or similar programming language

    • 12+ years of experience in building and running large scale systems professionally and can point to things worked on

    • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or architect role, leading design of complex systems

    • Deep understanding of database systems (e.g. MySQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra) including scalability, performance, and consistency characteristics

    • Expertise in Cloud Infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure

    • Expertise with modern technology stacks, API design, microservices, stream processing and designing for resilience and operational excellence

    • Strong communicator. You enjoy synthesizing, simplifying, and articulating complex problems to different types of audience, including executives

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with modern identity standards: OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, PKCE, SAML, and MFA.

    • Experience designing offline-first architectures for desktop and mobile applications.

    • Contributions to open-source projects or research in large-scale data and distributed systems.

    • Experience monitoring and improving reliability of complex systems at scale.

    • Awareness of security and compliance challenges in cloud-native products and platforms.
