Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Define and evolve the architecture of water infrastructure systems, including hybrid desktop-cloud platforms and AI-enhanced workflows
Strategic Alignment: Align architectural decisions with transformation goals and Autodesk's broader platform strategy
System Design: Govern the components, relationships, and principles of complex systems spanning multiple products and services
AI Integration: Lead efforts to embed AI into architectural workflows, particularly where AI may augment or replace traditional design paradigms
Collaboration: Partner with architects across AEC, platform teams, and product domains to ensure cohesive system-level design
Documentation & Communication: Use views, diagrams, and formalisms to articulate designs. Communicate effectively across disciplines and leadership levels
Operational Accountability: Ensure architectural decisions support reliability, privacy, security, and performance goals through implementation and operations
Mentorship: Share knowledge through mentoring and seminars
Influence: Effective at influencing technological and process decisions across a large multidisciplinary organization
Innovation: Recognize and apply novel approaches to design challenges. Stay current with architectural patterns, technologies, and industry frameworks
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in cloud or hybrid environments
Proven track record of delivering system-level designs across complex domains
Expertise in cloud services, distributed systems, and data modeling
Experience in moving from legacy technologies to modern solutions, leveraging skills in creativity and efficiency
Strong understanding of AI technologies and their application in design automation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global technical and non-technical audiences
Proficiency in working with a globally diverse team, across different time zones and cultural backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
Recognized contributor to software architecture practice (e.g., publications, patents)
Familiarity with Concept-based Software Design
Familiarity with Autodesk's platform capabilities and industry cloud strategy
