    Position summary

    Leadership technique et stratégie

    • Définir et piloter la vision à long terme de l'architecture de la plateforme web

    Architecture et développement de la plateforme

    • Concevoir et faire évoluer les composants centraux de la plateforme (par exemple, systèmes de conception, bibliothèques partagées, systèmes de build, pipelines CI/CD)

    • Établir des modèles pour les micro-frontends, les architectures modulaires et les intégrations d'API

    • Garantir des normes élevées en matière de performances, d'accessibilité, de sécurité et de fiabilité

    • Diriger les discussions critiques sur la conception des systèmes et fournir des conseils architecturaux

    Expérience développeur (DX)

    • Promouvoir les améliorations en matière de productivité et d'intégration des développeurs

    • Créer et maintenir des outils, des frameworks et des workflows permettant un développement rapide et cohérent

    Collaboration interfonctionnelle

    • Établir des benchmarks de performances et des normes de surveillance

    • Diriger des initiatives autour des performances web (Core Web Vitals, temps de chargement, optimisation de la taille des paquets)

    • Garantir l'observabilité de la plateforme, sa fiabilité et la préparation à la réponse aux incidents

    Qualifications minimales

    • Plus de 10 ans d'expérience en génie logiciel, avec une expertise approfondie en technologies web

    • Expérience avérée dans la conception et la mise à l'échelle de plateformes web à grande échelle ou d'infrastructures front-end

    • Solide expertise des écosystèmes JavaScript/TypeScript modernes (par exemple, React, Angular ou des frameworks similaires)

    • Expérience avec les systèmes de build, les bundlers et les outils (par exemple, Webpack, Vite, Turborepo)

    • Compréhension approfondie des performances web, du fonctionnement interne des navigateurs et des réseaux

    • Capacité avérée à influencer l'architecture au sein de plusieurs équipes

    • Solides compétences en conception de systèmes et en prise de décision architecturale

    Qualifications souhaitées

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the evolution of our Web Platform Engineering capabilities. This role is responsible for shaping the architecture, performance, scalability, and developer experience of the foundational web platform that powers our applications.

    As a technical leader, you will drive strategic initiatives across frontend infrastructure, platform services, and developer tooling, enabling product teams to build high-quality, performant, and reliable web experiences at scale.

    Responsibilities

    Technical Leadership & Strategy

    • Define and drive the long-term vision for the web platform architecture

    • Lead cross-team initiatives to standardize frontend architecture, frameworks, and best practices

    • Act as a technical advisor to engineering leadership on platform investments and tradeoffs

    • Influence roadmap decisions to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability

    Platform Architecture & Development

    • Design and evolve core platform components (e.g., design systems, shared libraries, build systems, CI/CD pipelines)

    • Establish patterns for micro-frontends, modular architectures, and API integrations

    • Ensure high standards for performance, accessibility, security, and reliability

    • Lead critical system design discussions and provide architectural guidance

    Developer Experience (DX)

    • Champion improvements to developer productivity and onboarding

    • Build and maintain tools, frameworks, and workflows that enable fast, consistent development

    • Reduce friction in testing, debugging, deployment, and observability

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with product engineering, design, DevOps, and security teams

    • Drive alignment across multiple teams and organizations

    • Mentor senior and staff engineers; elevate engineering standards across the org

    Quality, Performance & Observability

    • Establish performance benchmarks and monitoring standards

    • Lead initiatives around web performance (Core Web Vitals, load times, bundle size optimization)

    • Ensure platform observability, reliability, and incident response readiness

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in web technologies

    • Proven experience designing and scaling large-scale web platforms or frontend infrastructure

    • Strong expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems (e.g., React, Angular, or similar frameworks)

    • Experience with build systems, bundlers, and tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Turborepo)

    • Deep understanding of web performance, browser internals, and networking

    • Demonstrated ability to influence architecture across multiple teams

    • Strong system design and architectural decision-making skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with micro-frontend architectures or large monorepos

    • Familiarity with backend systems and APIs (Node.js, GraphQL, REST)

    • Experience building or maintaining design systems at scale

    • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines

    • Experience improving developer experience in large organizations

    Salary transparency
    Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,000 and $191,400. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
