d Snowflake Developer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions within the Snowflake Data Cloud. This role requires a deep understanding of Snowflake's cloud-based data warehousing capabilities, including its scalable compute, storage, and extensive ecosystem. Provide leadership in establishing standards and best practices for other data analytics, reporting, and dashboard developers within the Finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level applications using the Snowflake platform.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions which support decision-making and provide actionable insights.
Manage data migration into Snowflake, including extracting data from various sources, transforming it into a usable form, and loading it into the Snowflake platform.
Implement dynamic data filtering tailored to user roles and organizational scope.
Ensure data accuracy and completeness through stringent controls and audit frameworks.
Utilize third-party tools such as FiveTran and Informatica to minimize custom development and enhance data integration.
Understand how to structure data models, including relationships between tables, to support efficient and accurate reporting and analytics.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Snowflake development experience
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries; strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for automation and advanced data manipulation. Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms - AWS & Azure:
Financial Services Knowledge: Familiarity with financial services industry, Asset Mgt in particular
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with data visualization and data-driven tools and technologies, e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, TM1, Python, SnowSQL, dbt
Prior experience with Cognos Analytics is a strong plus
Certification in Snowflake
Experience with Snowflake's cloud-based architecture.
Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
