    Position summary

    The product is built in partnership with Serko Ltd. as a white-label solution based on their platform Zeno, meaning we design Booking.com-branded experiences on top of Serko's technology. The Booking.com for Business mobile team is responsible for extending Booking.com for Business functionality to Booking.com mobile application.

    Key specifics of our team are:

    • Focus on rapid experimentation;

    • Focus on development of new business focused capabilities;

    • Frequent collaboration with various Booking.com teams and our partner Serko.

    Please note: some travel to New Zealand, Europe and the US is required throughout the year.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Owns the execution of technical and user interface elements in the Booking.com stack, products and processes.

    • Splits large tasks in manageable and decoupled steps.

    • Estimates and prioritises based on the implementation effort and customer impact.

    • Collaborates with other app developers, backend developers, product owners, and quality specialists, to constantly improve customer experience.

    • Ensures the utmost high quality of the Booking.com app in production, by monitoring crashes, firefighting incidents and solving complex bugs.

    • Contributes to the processes that support the release of new features for the entire company, such as the release process, the build process, etc.

    • Contributes to Booking.com's growth through interviewing, on-boarding, or other recruitment efforts.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • 5+ years development experience with Java or Kotlin

    • 3+ years Android application development using Android SDK

    • Experience in solving technical challenges of a whole new level at large scale

    • Experience with the Android Marketplace and Distribution Process, including having an approved Play Store app

    • Good understanding of integrating back-end code into Android app

    • Self-motivated to explore new technologies, applications and environments

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Self-starter, highly motivated, team-player

    • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

    Nice to Have:

    • Experience designing service APIs for mobile applications

    • Experience with different experimentation methodologies, like A/B testing, and data-driven development processes

    • Familiarity with Web frontend technologies like NodeJS and TypeScript

    • Familiarity with GraphQL and Grafana/Graphite
