Be responsible for the timely delivery and the integrity of the internal and/or external financial reporting
Initiate and own the strategic goals of the team / region in line with the accounting roadmap and OKRs of the department. Specific areas normally include the development and maintenance of planning and budgeting systems, analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management's attention, the preparation of financial and management reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to Senior Management
Produce finance-related reports for Senior Management and for Head Office and overseas regulators where applicable. Liaise with the regulatory authorities and maintain good relations with them. May be involved in the budgeting and financial strategy process
Identify, develop and make improvements to new ideas, techniques, procedures, services, products or cross-functional innovation and improvement projects in accounting
Support and provide oversight to the accounting team with the monthly (quarterly, annual) closing process, review a specific area or team and take ownership for their performance
Manage the balance sheet and profit and loss for the region and complete the overall (regional / multiple entities) analysis
Be responsible for monthly closing reports, variance analysis and reconciliations for multiple entities / region in accordance with US GAAP and covering the Sox framework, and own the compliance aspect regarding this
Manage the annual returns and / or various statutory and statistical filings for multiple entities / region in accordance with all internal policies and external requirements and ensuring the Sox control framework is in place
Ensure adherence for a defined set of entities all compliance requirements including Sox, tax, statutory and statistical filings and statutory audits are met to fullest satisfaction.
Requirements of special knowledge/skills
Bachelor degree - Accounting, Business, Economic degree and/or Specialized Certification, such as CRA or CPA
5- 8 years Experience in Finance and/or accounting preferably within a Big4 environment and/or multinational corporate environment
Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOx
Experience managing teams, coaching, and providing training on the job
Enthusiasm about developing and leading people
High levels of personal effectiveness, particularly communication, organization and the ability to focus on achieving project deadlines
Enthusiasm to work in a fast paced, highly diverse, continuous developing and informal high achieving environment
Proven ability and the credibility to persuade and influence in effecting changes within an organization
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
Enthusiastic, proactive and driven
Fluent in spoken and written English
Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP, is preferable
Ability and willingness to travel internationally is required
