tax accounting and compliance isn't obligatory, a genuine interest in learning tax accounting is valued. Additionally, a strong understanding of various functional areas within Finance such as Accounting, Statutory reporting, Financial Systems, Compliance and Risk & Controls is required.
As part of the Global Accounting team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Controller in tasks related to tax accounting, compliance, and process improvements. Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset are essential as you collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve team objectives.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Prepare effective tax rate (ETR) computations, income tax calculations for Booking entities, including current and deferred tax provision, return to provision (RTP) adjustments, and uncertain tax positions (UTPs)
Assist in analyzing ETR and tax provision calculations, including current tax payable and receivable, deferred tax assets and liabilities, valuation allowances, UTPs, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Manage CIT compliance activities such as conducting reviews of CIT returns, addressing regulatory requirements, arranging income tax payments, etc
Prepare tax-related balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information and supporting documentation.
Assist in documenting tax-related internal controls, ensuring effectiveness and adequacy of controls related to tax processes and financial reporting.
Support the development and maintenance of tax accounting policies and procedures
Assist in standardizing tax accounting processes across all regions to ensure income tax compliance and accurate tax reporting.
Act as a key point of contact for external auditors regarding tax accounting matters.
Coordinate with external advisors on CIT filings and compliance for regional entities
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to driving change within the team.
Partner closely with Financial Controllers, Tax Managers, and other key Finance stakeholders to support cross-functional projects
Support tax audits, including responding to inquiries, preparing documentation
Act as backup for Controller as required on other tax related areas

Required Education, Qualifications & Experience:
University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics and/or postgraduate education (RA/CPA)
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in finance and/or accounting, with exposure to tax accounting preferred.
Solid knowledge of US GAAP and tax principles.
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SAP S4 HANA, OneStream, OneSource Tax Provision, and advanced MS Excel
Experience working in a team in an international company and matrix organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Hands-on approach with the ability to see the bigger picture while preparing detailed calculations
Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-change environment.
Proactive, enthusiastic, and driven individual who takes ownership of responsibilities with a positive attitude towards learning and taking on new responsibilities.
