Role Overview
Independently identifies, champions, and drives strategic commercial / operational opportunities on a global level. You will act as the key analytical partner, collaborating across Commercial, Product, Regional Operations, and central leadership to execute and measure impact.
Leads both ad hoc analysis and regular reporting and delivers relevant, action-oriented and innovative recommendations to local operations and global stakeholders which result in tangible commercial / operational improvements.
Provides and optimises dashboards, reports and data insights that help prioritising efforts and enable data-driven commercial/ operational decisions, optimising our commercial strategy and channel performance. Helps improve the reliability and maintainability of our dashboards, reports and datasets and is a proactive ambassador of the usage of centrally aligned metrics and definitions.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Stakeholder Management
Use deep commercial expertise and interpersonal skills to autonomously manage and influence senior stakeholders across various teams and crafts, forging high-performing working relationships to drive aligned outcomes.
Be seen as an expert and key driver / iterator of stakeholders' goals ultimately driving additional value to the business through the ability to make better decisions.
Prepare and present executive reports and strategic memos that translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and persuasive business narratives for senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
Commercial Acumen
Act as a strategic advisor to business leadership, leveraging data to frame complex problems, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver executive-level decision-making insights.
Use creative, innovative and strategic thinking to identify different opportunities to further improve partner performance and engagement while using a data driven approach.
Communicate proactively with other analysts to understand trends and effects from other efforts.
Innovation
Identify challenges, opportunities and actions to improve data quality & consistency, actionability and visibility.
Looks for automation and AI solutions to increase velocity of the team.
Optimise existing dashboards, reporting and data insights to align with the fast-paced environment that changes rapidly.
Data analysis and reporting
Build dashboards and reporting that help the Commercial Growth & Operations teams to meet their objectives.
Conduct rigorous, advanced deep-dive analysis to diagnose complex business challenges, often on your own initiative, ensuring analytical rigor and clarity.
Business impact
Is aware of the potential business impact of the work their team is doing and always prioritises based on that impact potential.
Actively support others to find clarity on business initiatives and be widely accepted in the business as a key driver of value creation towards business ambitions.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable, progressive experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar strategic analytical role, with a strong focus on technical application, commercial performance and business strategy.
Demonstrated track record of identifying and proposing commercial / operational opportunities.
Very high problem solving and structuring skills, with ability to simplify complex areas.
Analytical mastermind, with a statistical background.
Demonstrable technical mastery in data collection, processing, and modeling tools (SQL, Python, and relational databases) with experience building and maintaining production-ready data assets and analytical frameworks.
Highly proficient in using data analysis, reporting and visualisation tools: e.g. Tableau.
Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to executive-level audiences, including the creation of compelling business recommendations, strategic memos, and high-impact presentations.
A track record of successful cross-functional alignment, demonstrating the ability to influence and manage expectations with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, and Commercial crafts.
Business acumen to quickly understand Booking's objectives and key results and the way all parts of the company work together to realise our ambitions.
Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, and manage time efficiently.
Self-starter with the ability to collaborate across teams and parts of the organisation to deliver results.
