In this role you are the finance business partner for the Central Technology department within Booking.com. You take ownership for the financial planning and control and you can easily handle important stakeholders. Whereby there is a clear emphasis on bridging innovative business strategies into solid financial plans. On the basis of business analysis and through building business cases, you take pro-actively the lead in advising stakeholders on their departments' financial performance, expenses, FTE growth and other relevant business KPIs.
You will also work on enhancing ways of working within our team. Think about standardizing processes, automating financial reporting, or strengthening planning & control processes.
Lastly, you will also work on cost optimization projects. This will require close cooperation with FP&A peers, the Business, and relevant teams outside of FP&A.
Due to the rapid and continuous growth of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Support Central Tech in decision making, setting directions and exploring new avenues on any strategic priority applicable at that time. You will do this by business partnering, mapping processes, and delivering economic and financial insights and take ownership of the Planning & Control cycle
Drive both short and long-term business planning process to create solid financial plans;
Identify what drives (financial) success for Accommodations business and develop measures for these drivers;
Visualize your analysis and report your work in such a way that your business partners are able to easily understand it to make decisions;
Present your findings to senior audiences, on an as-needed basis;
Perform ad-hoc analysis, scenarios and benchmarking as needed and contribute to new business/expansion/cost control projects and process improvement as and when business requires.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or other related field and 5-8 years of relevant experience;
Experience managing budgets in Technology department/function is desirable ;
Financial modeling and analytical skills is required with advanced knowledge of Excel required, Google Sheets is a plus
Experience working with demanding stakeholders whilst maintaining a commercial and inquisitive attitude;
Ability to listen, work with and proactively advise business partners and also the ability to explain economics and Finance to non-Finance business partners in a simple, understandable manner;
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English;
Strong team player while being able to work independently;
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion
