Identify roadblocks and challenges early and communicate these to relevant stakeholders effectively, driving mitigating actions
Ability to engage work, and influence with different stakeholders up to Director level
Lead the end-to-end execution of complex technology projects specifically aimed at applying new tax, accounting, and payment regulations across the organisation's platforms and systems.
Oversee and manage multiple, interdependent project tracks and deliverables simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and compliance deadlines.
Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate complex financial/tax requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions and robust implementation plans.
Establish processes and manage resources effectively to handle ad hoc, urgent requests and regulatory changes without derailing core delivery commitments.
Serve as the primary point of contact for challenging and diverse internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Treasury, Tax, and Executive teams), effectively managing expectations and mitigating risks.
Strategically protect the technical delivery teams from scope creep, excessive noise, and unrealistic deadlines by serving as a firm, politically astute buffer.
Exercise advanced communication and negotiation skills to decline or defer non-critical requests in a way that maintains productive relationships and preserves project focus.
Proactively identify and manage project risks, anticipating and quickly adjusting to unforeseen challenges, shifting priorities, or unexpected regulatory shifts.
Qualifications & Skills:
Min. Bachelor's degree
5-8 years of professional experience in Project Management
Past experience with VAT or other indirect taxes or similar finance related projects and financial systems highly beneficial
Solid familiarity with project and change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle, including agile and traditional methodologies
A solid understanding of how people go through the change curve and the change process
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders)
Ability to work effectively and influence up to Director level
Effectively communicate in small/medium groups; Strong influencer in 1:1 and small groups
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and under pressure
Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making
Strategic thinking, able to contribute to long term vision
Strong problem solving and root cause identification skills
Basic business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges
Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts is an advantage
PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred
