Role Description:
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you are a technical subject-matter expert that bridges the various corners of the data governance engineering world to shape the direction of our Data Governance Platform, alongside your team. You enjoy leveraging an understanding of Data Governance projects actively developed at B.com and the ongoing industry developments to ensure the right technology investments and user experiences are being made within the platform.
The Senior Technical Product Manager will be responsible for engaging with a heterogeneous governance and data (analytics, ML and AI) community, working with cross-functional stakeholders, and building a short- and medium-term outcomes-driven roadmap.
Within the Data Governance Platform are a suite of products that include metadata collection, governance workflows, and reporting. We work with data at a very large scale - complex relationships, high volume, and wide-ranging use cases.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
You will serve as the voice of the platform and the customer and driving force behind data governance requirement scoping and implementation; from in-depth product understanding to feature development of new Data Governance capabilities.
Work closely with key data governance stakeholders to understand governance and compliance requirements and translate them into product capability requirements and a roadmap.
Drive the customer experience, continually raising the bar on quality, functionality, and usability.
Take full ownership of the product, the prioritization of new features, and enhancements to existing features.
Be the Senior technical product manager of a data platform that must be able to scale to support a wide range of data governance workflows - for data producers, consumers, and data stewards that participate in enterprise-wide data domains and cross-disciplinary data/AI/ML assets
Develop a roadmap for our data governance platform built on Collibra for metadata collection, dashboards and reports, 3rd party integrations with Collibra and documentation
Work with data governance specialists to prepare and conduct trainings, provide customer support and operational support
Build a network within a complex enterprise with your key users to understand their behaviors and needs.
Empower and collaborate with your team to unlock their full potential.
Define key product and success metrics, track them, and improve upon them.
Benchmark the platform infrastructure against industry standards and competitors for cost, innovation, and operational excellence.
Customers of your data governance products come from all functions in the business - data governance specialists, product managers, data crafts, and senior leaders.
Role Qualifications and Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have some combination of the following:
6+ years of technical product management experience in the data domain and platform product management
Open-minded team player with excellent communication skills for high-complexity, high-risk enterprise projects.
Experience working with Collibra or other equivalent vendor is a plus
Experience with complex stakeholder management (legal, privacy, security, finance, budgeting, team management, recruitment, external customers) is absolutely critical.
Impeccable delivery skills - prioritization, planning, problem scoping
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills are essential.
User-focused individual who keeps the customer at the heart of everything they do, while having strong commercial awareness.
Data-driven. Base your decisions on facts rather than opinions.
A go-getter who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and dives into a project to achieve success by problem solving.
