    The Role at a Glance

    The Analyst, Cash Applications applies all BIC and BIUS cash received, including the analysis and application of all incoming Accounts Receivable (AR) and Non-AR payments. This position also handles all collection activities on the Brother Subsidiary and Affiliate accounts, using SAP and High Radius. In addition, this role will be responsible for all bank reconciliations, general ledgers reconciliation, and discern the ability to to make decisions regarding cash application processes and deduction coding. The Analyst, Cash Applications will handle all training needs for current and future Cash Application administrators as well as the training needs of any other Subsidiary cash application teams.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Daily Cash Applications

    • Apply all AR and Non-AR cash received by end of business every day

    • Work with divisions to obtain accurate GL information for all Non-AR cash, and apply it using parked journal entries

    • Investigate and resolve all unidentified remittances or deductions, and if required, review with collection or deduction analysts

    • Collaborate and partner with collection and deduction analysts to improve the processing of applications

    • Maintain documentation of cash application processes and ensure compliance with company policy and procedures

    • Seek opportunities for continued improvements, efficiencies, and best practices

    General Ledge Reconciliations and AR Journal Posting

    • Provide daily General Ledger reconciliations for all AR bank accounts (all GL reconciliations are audited and must be performed with accuracy)

    • Audit the accuracy of all Non-USD payments made and provide reconciliations

    • Provide accurate data on currency conversions in collaboration with management and treasury as needed

    • Reconcile daily cash receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions

    • Audit journal entries for accuracy of amounts and relevant supporting documentation

    • Hold team members accountable for providing appropriate backup and obtaining required approvals

    • Assist with month end and year end closing processes

    Collections/Maintenance of Brother Subsidiary and Affiliate AR accounts

    • Build customer relationships and provide customer service associated with collections

    • Create, review and deliver monthly statements

    • Ensure all subsidiary and affiliate accounts are current and do not have any past dues in accordance with BIL policy utilizing SAP and High Radius

    • Work with Order Management to maintain accurate billings and credits at all times

    Reporting

    • Prepare and analyze reports related to cash applications and receivables performance using S4 and SAC reporting tools

    • Run weekly reports on application of cash data, such as On Account payments and uncoded deductions

    • Utilize team resources to ensure weekly reports are updated accurately

    • Be responsible for all requests for Cash Application remittances

    • Assist management and audit team on review and submission of all quarterly audit requests

    Training

    • Responsible for all training of current and future cash application team members

    • Review training needs of BIC team as well as Canada and any other Subsidiary teams as they come on to the S4 platform

    • Work to develop training documentation for future needs

    Key Experience & Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)

    • Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field Required

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years Required

    • Hands-on experience in cash management, accounts receivables, and general ledger reconciliation in customer facing business

    Languages

    • Spanish Preferred

    Software/Technical Skills

    • Microsoft Excel Advanced Required

    • Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) Intermediate Required

    • Proficiency in Financial Software and ERP systems (SAP S4 Accounting module preferred) Intermediate Required

    Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Ability to operate independently, with a high degree of self-sufficiency Required

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Required

    • Ability to participate cross functionally and place success of team and company above individual accomplishments Required

    Compensation & Schedule for This Role

    This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid

    • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year.

    • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data

    About Where We Work

    Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard.
