The Role at a Glance
The Data Engineer supports the organization's mission of enabling better, faster, and simpler decisions through data. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and systems that ensure the efficient flow of high-quality data for analytics and reporting. The Data Engineer contributes to building scalable data solutions and gains hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools, and best practices, driving key initiatives that impact business objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Data Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for transforming, integrating, and ensuring data quality across multiple sources
Assist in building and optimizing data warehousing solutions to support analytics and reporting functions
Build and manage ETL processes using tools such as Alteryx, Databricks, or similar
Implement cloud-based data solutions on platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, and AWS, ensuring scalability and efficiency
Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accurate and consistent data flows across systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and contribute to the design of data solutions
Contribute to the creation of technical documentation for data pipelines and workflows, including code comments and best practices
Apply data governance principles and compliance practices to ensure data is handled and stored securely
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering to improve systems and processes
Key Experience & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field
Experience
3+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a related role
Software/Technical Skills
Database Systems: Proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience in Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or similar platforms
Cloud Platforms: Practical knowledge in Snowflake, Azure, or AWS environments; Working knowledge of Salesforce integration using SOAP APIs or Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL)
Strong experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL
Project management and ticketing tools such as Jira and or Workfront
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI - Preferred
Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Understanding of data governance and compliance standards
Proven experience with machine learning frameworks or data science concepts
Strong analytical skills with a passion for data and problem-solving
Proven proactive approach to learning new technologies and improving existing systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Schedule for This Role
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid
The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $90,000 - $116,000 per year
Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data

About Where We Work
Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always "at your side" for our customers.
