is responsible for optimizing the testing processes and resources within the IT Platform Engineering department. The position involves planning, improving processes, leading a team, and collaborating with others for exceptional software delivery.
The Director leads a small team of testing & process optimization professionals, ensuring their work is well organized and positioned for success, and provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Resource Planning Leadership
Assess current state resource allocation processes; build a roadmap for envisioned future state across Resource Management, Release Management, and Testing Management
Enhance and implement process and tool improvements to optimize resource utilization; guide the associated processes for organizational adaptability.
Provide recommendations to drive efficiency across related IT processes and tools
Release Management
Lead the planning and execution of application release management activities, including establishing release policies, procedures, and schedules to ensure smooth deployments
Coordinate with development, testing, and infrastructure teams and recommend and implement automation tools to enhance release management efficiency
Testing Management
Drive the adoption of automated testing techniques to accelerate delivery and improve reliability
Partner with the Infrastructure team to develop vital testing assets and processes (environment landscapes, load testing tools, and support model)
Evaluate existing testing methodologies and tools to identify areas for improvement
Team & Organizational Leadership
Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to the testing and process engineering team
Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the team
Set clear goals and objectives aligned with departmental and organizational objectives
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and development
Key Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
10+ years of combined experience managing and deploying testing management functions for application teams, Application Release Management, IT Resource and Capacity Management, and motivating change across an IT department
Knowledge of key platforms like SAP (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), and JIRA
Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and ability to develop positive relationships across the business and lead change.
Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop people

Additional Role Details
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid
The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $185,000 - $200,000 per year
Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives
