This position ensures proper record keeping, developing best practices, tax strategies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely filing of income and franchise tax returns, estimated payments, and annual report filings. This role is a key player in building out a tax team that aligns with company culture and objectives. This role works in partnership with the Tax Director to build out a team that is collaborative and a great business partner to internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Prepare Income and Franchise Tax Returns
Prepare and file US Federal and State income tax filings including Forms 1120, 5471, 1118, 899x series.
Prepare and file state franchise tax returns.
Compile information, analysis and preparation of workpapers to support income and franchise tax calculations.
Identify, recommend and develop solutions for systems and other areas as needed.
Prepare Estimated Income and Franchise Tax Payments
Compile information and calculate the estimated tax payments based on forecast and actual data from the books and records from the company.
Prepare wire/check request forms and initiate ACH debits with states for tax payments.
Prepare journal entries to record the federal and state tax payments to appropriate general ledger accounts.
Reconcile income and franchise tax accounts.
Ensure the estimated payments are made on a timely basis.
Other Financial Duties
Calculate and prepare domestic quarterly tax provisions and review foreign quarterly tax provisions.
Prepare and file annual reports.
Assist in federal and state audits.
ABOUT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum 8 years in Income tax accounting and tax compliance with expertise in consolidated federal and multi-state tax return preparation with federal and state audit exposure.
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role, direct or indirect.
Licenses & Certifications
CPA - Certified Public Accountant
Software/Technical Skills
CorpTax compliance software (Preferred)
SAP tax module (Preferred)
Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Strong understanding of US Corporate Federal and State Income Tax regulations
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management & planning skills
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Team player with positive attitude
Understanding of US taxation of foreign source income (International tax) (Preferred)
ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR THIS ROLE
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid
The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000 per year.
Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
