    The Role at a Glance

    The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for executing demand planning activities, improving forecast accuracy, and analyzing trends. This role partners with various internal and external customers (Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Major Customer Accounts) to gather inputs to build the consensus demand plan through the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This role serves as the main liaison between customers and account sales managers on weekly allocation quantities for constrained products and partners with the Order Management team to ensure accurate and timely execution of sales order fulfillment. The Senior Demand Planner will play a key role in tracking, reporting, and adjusting forecasts based on forecast accuracy and bias trends to minimize forecast error.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Demand Planning

    • Perform demand planning and management activities

    • Understand product demand patterns and business trends by collecting and analyzing multiple data streams, optimizing statistical forecast models in SAP IBP

    • Identify demand fluctuations and collaborate with stakeholders to adjust forecast accordingly

    • Build forecasts at the SKU, DC location, customer, category, and divisional levels and confirm accuracy at each level

    • Utilize statistical models and forecasting tools to improve forecast accuracy and reduce bias

    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Supply Team to merge statistical forecasts, POS (point of sales) forecasts, and other manual inputs into a final consensus demand plan

    • Partner with internal supply chains teams including but not limited to Order Management and inventory teams to ensure demand plans align with supply capabilities

    • Align on forecast, report month-over-month changes, and performance to fiscal year targets and budget with key stakeholders through the S&OP processes

    • Conduct monthly New Product Development (NPD)/Promo Meetings with the Product Marketing teams for better planning

    Analytics & Reporting

    • Maintain and track key performance indicators, such as Forecast Accuracy and Bias, Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE), and Fill Rate to optimize supply chain efficiencies

    • Track forecast accuracy to identify opportunities to reduce forecast error

    • Build ABC XYZ segmentation to track demand variability across different levels of revenue impact

    • Provide Supply Planning demand variability information that aids their safety stock and inventory coverage

    • Generate and distribute findings to key stakeholders throughout the S&OP process and communication channels for alignment and transparency

    • Use analytics, communicate results, and make recommendations to management

    Key Experience & Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) - Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field

    Experience

    • Minimum 5 years - Experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, or Supply Chain Analytics

    Licenses & Certifications

    • APICS or ISM certification such as CSCP, CPIM, and or CPSM (Preferred)

    Software/Technical Skills

    • Data Analysis and Forecasting Tools (Excel, SAP, Tableau, etc.)

    Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

    • Inventory Management Skills

    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

    • Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships

    • Solid attention to detail

    • Ability to analyze large sets of data to forecast demand, track inventory levels and develop actionable insights from data

    • Proficiency in documenting processes, maintaining accurate records and generating comprehensive reports

    • Experience in S&OP processes and collaboration with cross-functional teams (Preferred)

    Compensation & Schedule for This Role

    This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid

    • The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $ 90,000 - $ 105,000 per year

    • Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data

    About Where We Work

    Brother's corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group.
